Chick “Sleepy Hall” Bullock began in vaudeville singing in movie palaces during intermissions, and then started singing in the studio in the 30’s. Until the 1942 musicians’ strike ended his career, he recorded over 500 songs. “The Boogie Man” was released in 1934. This one is a bit darker than the music may suggest. Listen closely to the lyrics; this is a pretty creepy song.
